Transfer News
Now is the transfer season in the football world (for those who don’t know), so this post today is for my good friend Sheldon, who loves football more than his mum.
Lol…
Okay, in the
EPL, Liverpool has launched an 18.5 million bid for Portsmouth right back Glenn Johnson. The 24 year old England international has impressed at Portsmouth after a disappointing stint at Chelsea and several clubs are in the running to secure his signature.
Next, new Chelsea manager Carlo
Ancelotti wants Carlos
Tevez in his new team. He faces stiff opposition from Manchester City who are willing to offer
Tevez improved personal terms. (Read: More money)
Michael Owen wants out of Newcastle United after the Magpies were relegated to the championship. Few clubs are willing to take a chance on the injury-prone Owen who was once rated as one of the best young strikers England had to offer.
Moving over to the
Primera Liga and Real Madrid. Real’s bid to build a “Dream Team” has been out priced after
Bayern Munich slapped a price tag in
excess of 40 million (pounds) on star winger Frank
Ribery.
Valencia have also done the same with David Villa, but Manchester United and Manchester City are still in the running,
with both clubs offering at least 45 million pounds for the highly rated Spaniard. Villa, in the past, has stated his desire to play for Arsenal, but it is unlikely that the Gunners will table a bid, having only a 13 million kitty.
Another Spaniard that may be on his way to the
Bernabeu is
Xabi Alonso. It is unlikely that the
playmaker will still be at Afield next season after Real offered a cash plus player exchange. Alonso has grown disillusioned with manager Rafael
Benitez after the latter tried to sell him in the last transfer window.
Haha! I love the transfer season. Will post again later, bye!
